Staging area: Bellevue Hotel
The Serious stuff: Notre Dame de Vie
Fun happened at: Fernbrooks
Made possible by: Darlene Tan-Salazar
Made pretty by: Aaron and Randy of The Make Up Studio
Proof it all happened: Derrick Ian Lim and Jamie Lihan of Imagine Nation Photography
This was my first shoot for the year 2011.
A very much anticipated wedding by their “barkada”,
but then again, every wedding in their circle of friends is a much anticipated one.
I first met them at one of their friend’s wedding which we covered also (Me and Toto),
then after seeing our presentation during the reception they decided they wanted to get us also, sweet!
Hmm, I just realized I haven’t posted the previous wedding I just mentioned…
I guess I have to post that one next!

Karen was asking what I was shooting…
I love the soft peeking lights

I know Derrick, you still owe me a blog entry! We were very fortunate that you became part of our wedding, though it was not planned. 2 weddings done for our circle, many more to go? Hahaha!
Thank you Derrick for uploading the set of our wedding photos in your official blog. They were beyond amazing and our guests were like ” Ang galing ng photographers nyo, sobra!”
Some single ladies even said, “Karen, meron na din akong photographer sa wedding ko” Hahaha
Choosing our Photographer supplier was the first drama we had during the wedding preparations. When we had the chance to visit Imagine Nation Studio, we saw Carlo Cecilio’s portfolio and we got captured by it. Luckily, Carlo was there also to entertain us and brief about Imagine Nation. During that time, we are sure in getting him already but we thought booking them during fair will give us some more freebies, and hoping for discounts
Come bridal fair in SMX (yata?), we immediately booked Carlo. Unfortunately, just before Nes’ wedding I got a call from him, he overlooked that he was booked already on Jan 3 as a second photogrpaher of another client and he wasn’t abe to keep track of it (I think they only keep track those when they are the Primary). As a bride with all the stress on top of your head, it was very disappointing given that we personally picked him. He mentioned there is still another available Photographer on our date same as his category, it was Derrick. I told him, havent seen yet his portfolio, we’ll review first, try to meet this “Derrick” and check if we could find the connection with him and be able to work with him from preps to wedding day itself. After few days, Nes’ told me that it will be Derrick who will be backing up Toto in their wedding in Boracay. God really works in ways that we dont expect or we cannot see. We were kinda relieved hearing this as we can get to see Derrick in action
PAK! we decided to book Derrick after we saw him do his awesome coverage (with Toto) of Ian and Nes’ wedding. He really had a connection not just with us but with the rest of the gang. Derrick is also very generous in sharing his idea/thoughts, from prenup theme and location, choice of hotel (with beautiful lighting) for preps, to AVP songs, etc. I love how much involved he was during the preparations.
It was truly a wonderful experience working with you Derrick, together with Paul and Jamie. You really made our wedding such as wonderful as we could ever imagine. Mike only just had few conditions in choosing our suppliers, one of it was, “Basta gusto ko magaling photographer” His reason basically was, these photos will be our only souvenir, thus it should be captured beautifully. In these photos also, will bring back and remind us how mesmerizing 3-Jan-2011 was.
Imagine Nation’s tag line fits perfectly “God makes weddings beautiful” Derrick, you simply captured ours!
Very well said Karen!
I thinks sa Bora pa lang may connection na tlaga ang K! with Derrick;) Looking forward din ako as a friend to see you capture this special day of Mike and Karen. When we saw you at main lobby of Ferbrooks I know that parang deja vu lng ng Bora ang nangyari kasi you know what to do sa amin (pose agad!) I was so touched (bride?!) when I red your description sa aming barkadahan dun sa FB post pa lang kasi you made us feel na special kme aaawww! See you next year Derrick!
and more to come.
Btw, sabi ng officemate ko ang ganda daw ng shots at parang ang yayaman daw ang kinasal, sabi ko oo naman!
andami pang susunod…
excited much!!!
